World's largest production base of railway tracks

Baogang Group, located in the ore rich area of Chinese autonomous region of Inner Mongolia, has become the world's largest production base of railway tracks, with a production capacity exceeding 2.1 million tracks and steel profiles, and another 8 million tons of other products made of steel - sheets, strips, seamless tubes, rods and profiles.

By investing in two modern production lines, Baogang group intended to fulfill the needs of China's railways, particularly for projects of high-speed railway lines such as Beijing - Guangzhou, and standard lines such as Datong - Qinhuangdao.

Earlier this year, 12.7 million tons of heavy railway tracks were delivered, for the construction of the railway line Zhangjiakou - Tangshan. The rails were 75 meters long, and will be weld to form a compact unit of 500 m in length . According to the project, the railway line Zhangjiakou - Tangshan will be 528 km long. It is designed for speed from 120 to 160 kmph, and it will be mostly used for freight trains.

Besides servicing the domestic production, Baogang Group is also active in the international market and exports its products actively to the United States, Canada, Argentina and the EU.
