Belgrade is prepared to start the first phase of the realization of the project "Belgrade Waterfront". It is the biggest project of its kind in Europe worth 3.5 billion euros, and it will be completely financed by the investor Eagle Hills from the United Arab Emirates.

With the urban renewal of the underdeveloped area of the city, Belgrade will get modern center that will generate thirteen thousand jobs, and housing for approximately seventeen thousand citizens. On the river Sava coast area of 1.8 million square meters, it is planned to build over one million square meters of residential space, 750.000 square meters of business and commercial spaces (hotels, shops, offices), approximately 62.000 square meters of high-quality public facilities (nurseries, educational and cultural institutions, public health care, entertainment facilities), and the quarter of a million square meters of landscaped areas.

Sinisa Mali, the mayor of Belgrade, said among other things:
"The project "Belgrade Waterfront" will change life in Belgrade, it will change the prospects and the future of the city, but will also contribute to the launching of our construction industry, the economy, the employment of our people and creating jobs. Also, through this great project, we show that we have created a positive environment for investments and that we can both attract and keep large investors. "

20,000 people will take part in the realization of the project - mostly from the domestic industry, and all costs and risks will be taken over by the investor from Abu Dhabi. The City and the Republic of Serbia are obliged to concede the space for 99 years, and to provide the necessary infrastructure to the border of the construction site.

The construction will be divided in four phases, but the 50% of the project must be completed within 20 years and the rest within 30 years from the start of the project.
