According to preliminary results of industrial production volume in June 2015, published on the website of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS), metal production is significantly decreased compared to the results of the same period last year.

Metal production decreased by 13.9% compared to the last year good results , and beside that there is a slight decline in employment and labor productivity recorded. Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment stagnated, with only a insignificant growth of 0.8% compared to June 2014. The little decrease of 5.5% was recorded in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. On the other hand, production of machinery and equipment recorded a double-digit decline of 11.3%, with a slight increase in the number of employees and a slump in labor productivity compared to the same month last year.

The only significant positive shift in the metal industry is recorded in the production of other means of transport where, beside the number of employees and excellent productivity, production increased by 21.7%. The continued growth of this industry branch in recent months may be associated with a project of delivery 44 low-floor trains, which are produced by Končar - Electric Vehicles for HŽ Passenger Transport. In the first 6 months of this year seven new trains were delivered.
